Qatar University announces dates of its annual graduation ceremony for the 42nd batch of students 

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, Qatar University (QU) will host its annual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2019, marking the 42nd batch of students, starting on 7 October 2019 at 8:30 AM, in the Sports & Events Complex at QU. The graduation ceremony for distinguished female students will be held in the presence and under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani, wife of His Highness the Emir, on 8 October 2019 at 10:00 AM. The graduation ceremonies for all female students will take place during the days 9,10,12,13,14,15,16 October 2019 in the Sports & Events Complex at QU.

Since the University was founded in 1977, the graduation ceremony aims to celebrate students graduating from bachelor and postgraduate degrees. The ceremony will span over the course of two consecutive days, where the first day is dedicated to male graduates, and the second day dedicated to distinguished female graduates. The graduates will complete the final step in their university journey in the presence of QU President Dr. Hassan Rashid Al-Derham, university deputies and officials, faculty, alumni and their family, in addition to VIP guests.

Early Preparations

This year, early preparations were underway in order to facilitate the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2019, with more than 3220 students (2468 females and 752 male) from a full academic year that includes: Fall 2018, Winter 2019, Spring 2019 and Summer 2019.

As QU graduates its 42nd batch of graduates, the university continues to chronicle a long history spanning decades in which it contributes heavily to Qatar’s development and prosperity, through boosting the labor market with qualified graduates.

QU’s new strategy places an emphasis on elevating the student experience by placing QU as a pioneer and a leading educational institution in the higher education sector in Qatar and abroad. QU is committed to providing high-quality education in areas of national priority, moving towards building a knowledge-based society.
